Information about ViLLE
Introduction
ViLLE is a learning platform developed by the University of Turku that provides students and teachers with information about learning. With ViLLE, teachers can either create their own assignments, or utilize assignments created by other teachers. Assignments are generally automatically assessed and provide immediate feedback to the students. This frees up teachers to spend more time on teaching and providing support instead. ViLLE is a strongly research-based system, as we continuously conduct research on learning and develop ViLLE based on the obtained results.
ViLLE contains a wide range of assignments in programming, mathematics, languages and other subjects, from which the teachers can choose suitable resources for teaching. Teachers can also create and share their own assignments, as ViLLE contains a large number of ready-made exercise types that make it easy to create assignments. The system collects a wide range of information about students’ answers, which teachers can use to develop their assessments and teaching.
ViLLE contains ready-made learning modules in subjects such as mathematics, programming and Finnish as a native language. These modules are called learning paths. ViLLE’s learning paths have been developed in collaboration with Finnish teachers and are very popular with our users.
