BeLLE Consortium

International BeLLE Consortium was founded in 2021. It brings together organisers of the Bebras Challenge on Informatics and Computational Thinking from around the world. The goals of the consortium are to organise the challenge successfully and conduct research on the challenge, computational thinking, informatics, and education.

What is the Bebras Challenge?

Bebras Challenge on Informatics and Computational Thinking is an annual challenge organised in many countries (read more at bebras.org). Bebras is a Lithuanian word that means beaver.

In the BeLLE Consortium, the learning environment ViLLE is mostly used for the Bebras Challenge, but some countries use other platforms too.

Who is part of BeLLE?

TRILA has been part of BeLLE since the beginning as the ViLLE platform has been used to host the challenge. In 2021, ViLLE was piloted for the Bebras Challenge for the first time, and after that, many countries have chosen ViLLE to host their countries’ challenges.

Numbers of countries using ViLLE and the numbers of participants as well as the collaborating countries are below.
